DNV certifies third milestone for Nordseecluster A offshore wind projects

DNV has certified the third milestone for Nordseecluster A, covering the NC 1 and NC 2 offshore wind projects in the German North Sea. The project is being developed jointly by RWE and Norges Bank Investment Management and forms part of the wider Nordseecluster development, one of Germany’s largest offshore wind schemes, with total planned capacity of up to 1.6 GW.

The certification confirms that the project’s design phase, including plans for installation, operation and decommissioning, meets the requirements of Germany’s Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency. With this third BSH release secured, RWE is authorised to proceed with wind turbine installation at the site. Project representatives said the milestone moves Nordseecluster from planning toward physical construction and underlines the role of independent verification in ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
