Qualitas Energy has begun construction of the Ingstetten wind farm repowering project in Baden-Württemberg, around 35 kilometres southwest of Ulm. Five existing NEG Micon NM 48 turbines, together with their foundations, crane pads and access roads, will be completely dismantled and replaced by six Enercon E-175 turbines. Each new unit will have a capacity of 7 MW, bringing the site’s total installed capacity to 42 MW. Commissioning is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027, after which the wind farm is expected to generate enough renewable electricity for approximately 28,000 households annually.
The start of construction was marked by a groundbreaking ceremony attended by representatives of regional politics, public administration, industry and the local community. Qualitas Energy said the modern turbines will increase the site’s efficiency, make better use of local wind resources and strengthen the region’s electricity supply. The project also expands the company’s German wind portfolio, which includes more than 100 projects, a late-stage development pipeline of 3 GW and over 1 GW of capacity already operating or under construction.
